"I believe that every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood, and that these ingredients are a crucial foundation for healing. Trauma and adversity take many forms and have a variety of impacts on our lives. I use a strengths-based approach in therapy that views mental health issues as normal reactions to abnormal situations. So many people have experienced interpersonal injuries in their lives and it can be difficult to open up to someone new, even in therapy. That is why I work to build and earn trust by creating a space founded on acceptance.
I feel privileged to be able to come alongside people in their personal journeys of growth and healing to offer therapeutic support. My approach is integrative and is informed by Schema Therapy (ST), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These approaches use a combination of insight building, experiential work, and skills building and are helpful for people dealing with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulty managing emotions or behaviors, difficulties in relationships, and interpersonal traumas. Some theories that inform my approach include attachment, relational-cultural, feminist, and critical race theories.
My style is warm and genuine and my number one priority is creating a safe space for therapeutic work to unfold. I am passionate about supporting people in overcoming both internal and external barriers to get the most out of life."
